Men's Moissanite Rings: Styles, Sizing and Care

Men's moissanite rings sit somewhere between a wedding band and a statement piece: bold enough to notice, tough enough to wear every day. Here is how the main styles differ, how to get the size right and how to keep the ring looking sharp.

Why moissanite suits a men's ring

A men's ring takes more knocks than most jewelry, so hardness matters. Moissanite scores 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond at 10, and it resists scratching. The styles

• Cluster signet: a flat round top filled with a tight cluster of stones, on smooth, wide shoulders. It has the shape of a classic signet ring and sits low on the finger.
• Pavé square: a broad square face paved edge to edge with small stones, often built up in stepped tiers so the light breaks into bands.
• Baguette cluster: rows of rectangular baguette stones flash in clean blocks of light, framed by finer round pavé.
• Tiered halo: a single larger stone at the peak of the face with rows of smaller stones stepping down around it.
• Star: a raised, five-point star paved with small stones, for something more playful.

Which finger?

A men's statement ring is often worn on the ring finger or the little finger of the right hand, or on the left ring finger as a wedding or engagement ring. Fingers differ in size, and the dominant hand is often slightly larger, so measure the exact finger the ring is for.

Getting the size right

Our men's rings come in US sizes 8 to 12. Measure late in the day, when fingers are at their largest. White, yellow or rose?

Every men's ring comes in 925 sterling silver with 18K white, yellow or rose gold plating. White gold plating gives the brightest, iciest look and goes with everything. Yellow gold plating feels classic and bold. Rose gold plating is warmer and less expected.

Care

Take the ring off for the gym, sports and manual work. Sweat contains salts and acids that wear on gold plating, and heavy work can knock the face. Keep it away from water and household chemicals, and clean it every few weeks in warm water with mild soap and a soft brush.
