Marquise Moissanite Rings
A marquise is a long brilliant cut with a point at each end. It has the most length of any classic shape for its weight, so it looks large on the hand and slims the finger. Moissanite's brilliance runs along the whole stone.
Set upright, a marquise points along the finger for a dramatic, vintage look. Turned east-west, it lies across the finger for something more modern. Small marquise stones also work as leaves and petals in floral and cluster designs. Compare it with our pear and oval rings. Our guide to engagement ring shapes compares all nine. Our guide to pear and marquise rings covers caring for the points.
Marquise Moissanite Rings FAQ
Does a marquise look bigger than other shapes?
Usually, yes. It has the most length of any classic shape for its weight, so it covers more of the finger.
Are the points fragile?
Moissanite scores 9.25 on the Mohs scale and resists scratching, but any pointed stone can chip from a hard knock. Take your ring off for sports and heavy work.
What is an east-west marquise?
The stone is turned to lie across the finger. It gives a modern, low look and stacks well with slim bands.
What ring sizes are available?
Women's rings come in US sizes 5 to 9, and size exchanges are free. See our ring size guide.
