Moissanite Engagement Rings
Moissanite was first found by Henri Moissan in a meteorite crater in 1893, and today it is created in a lab. It has a refractive index of 2.65 against diamond's 2.42 and a dispersion of 0.104 against 0.044, so it returns more sparkle and more rainbow fire. The setting decides how the center stone reads. A solitaire keeps the focus on one stone. A halo frames it with a ring of smaller stones, and a three stone ring adds a stone on each side. Is moissanite a real gemstone?
Yes. Moissanite is a gemstone in its own right, harder than any gem except diamond and with more fire. Every Carissie moissanite comes with a certificate of authenticity that records its cut grade, color and clarity grades and carat weight equivalent.
What ring sizes are available?
Women's rings come in US sizes 5 to 9. Our ring size guide shows three ways to measure at home. If the size is wrong, we exchange it for free: email voice@carissie.com with your order number and the size you need. Planning a surprise? Here is how to find their ring size without asking.
Will the gold plating last?
The 18K gold plating sits over a 925 sterling silver base and wears gradually with use. It lasts longest when the ring goes on last and comes off first, and comes off before swimming, showering and workouts. Can I return an engagement ring?
