Choosing a Promise Ring
A promise ring marks a commitment between two people who are not yet engaged, or who simply want a ring that says they are in it together. It is usually simpler and smaller than an engagement ring, so the engagement ring still feels like a step forward when it comes.
Heart shapes are the most openly romantic choice, and a slim band or a small fashion ring is easy to wear every day. Read more in our guide to promise and anniversary rings.
Choosing a Promise Ring FAQ
Which hand does a promise ring go on?
Many people wear it on the ring finger of the left hand and move it to the right hand when they become engaged. Others wear it on the right hand from the start. There is no fixed rule.
Should a promise ring be smaller than an engagement ring?
Usually. A simpler, smaller promise ring means the engagement ring still feels like a step forward when it comes.
What if the ring doesn't fit?
Size exchanges are free on all rings within 60 days of delivery, as long as the ring is unworn: we ship the new size at no cost, and you pay the postage to send the original back. See our return policy.
How long does delivery take?
Shipping is free. Orders are processed in 1 to 3 business days, with 1 to 2 more in peak season, then delivery takes 7 to 15 business days in the US and 10 to 18 in Canada.
